FACTS ABOUT DYLAN:
What’s your favorite thing about the event industry? My favorite thing is that it’s never the same thing. Every client is different in their expectations and desired outcomes. In my job I get to showcase my home town and meet people from all over the world. One week you have guests in from New Jersey, the next you have guests from 20 different European countries.
Why did you join ISES? To network with the industry and develop my career by learning from my peers.
What have you enjoyed the most about ISES? It’s a warm and welcoming community of event professionals who have similar personalities as myself, so it’s just easy to meet people who are going to be mutually beneficial to each other.
Best advice you have for others or have been given? Do it. You don’t want to look back 30 years down the line and regret what you didn’t try. Experiences are life’s real education.
Favorite thing to do when you are not working? I love to be out on the lake with my dog Sammy (a yellow lab) and I am a huge craft beer nerd.
Most Recent Vacation Spot? Galveston Island
Favorite Austin Experience? Hands down it’s SXSW. I have been going to SXSW since I was in high school and now I get to throw the fun and crazy events I use to attend as a guest. Then after INTERACTIVE is over I get to go enjoy the music for the rest of the week.
Favorite Austin Restaurant/Hang out spot? Favorite food? Probably the hardest question. My favorite restaurant is probably Hudson’s on the Bend. During December they hang thousands of apples from the ceiling and the whole restaurant smells incredible. My favorite foods are Tex-Mex and any style of Asian cuisine. Favorite hangout spot is probably Rainey Street in general.
Any mentors or people who inspire you, you look up to – industry or non-industry? I really like Mark Cuban and Richard Branson.
NOW FOR THE FUN QUESTIONS:

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Argentina and then to Antarctica. It’s been on my bucket list for years.
