ILEA Austin’s January meeting was hosted by Pearl Events at Green Pastures. Pearl Events convenes and orchestrates events at Green Pastures monthly and recognized the desire from ILEA members to see the iconic venue post remodel. The old Victorian home was stripped down and completely revamped. The new restaurant at Green Pastures is known for serving a delicious brunch and could have played a small role in the theme of the meeting. The inspiration for the theme of the event was “ladies who lunch” and Marion Hall at Green Pastures was the perfect location. Marion Hall is beautifully lit from a wall of windows that allow an abundance of natural light fill the space and offer a view of the tree dotted and lush landscape. Shades of pink were used in the décor and floral arrangements from Bouquets of Austin to compliment the brunch theme. The light pink draping was the first décor choice as the back drop for the Wonder Wheel which led to the linen choice from Premiere Events and the invitation suite by The Inviting Pear. Townsley Designs created the Wonder Wheel were ILEA members were quizzed about the Austin event industry.
Pearl Events drew inspiration from speed dating for the seating of the event and attendees drew a card at random for their seating assignments. Pearl Events choose long tables and random seating assignments to force members to make new contacts, loosen up and interact at a high level of engagement while playing trivia. Members learned a great deal about wedding trends and had fun at the same time!
This sold out meeting was tremendous for networking and continued education in the event industry!
