Photo by Deborah Faitt. 1. You specialize in vegan chocolate. What exactly does this mean? I use the finest ingredients mother nature has to offer. The term “vegan†refers to products made from dairy free and from non-animal ingredients. Almost all of my products are organic, raw, sugar-free and gluten-free (although for the hard-core sugar enthusiasts, some are still sinful!). In addition, whenever possible, I use ingredients from sustainable suppliers and support organic and natural living. I also offer traditional, organic European style (non-vegan) truffles when requested. 2. What made you choose chocolate to work with? My passion started with read full story >

What I have seen lately is a more creative approach to branding using key dÈcor items. Not only are the items eye-catching, but they cause a “stir” in the attendees, thus generating the ëbuzzà that each company tries to achieve. This buzz caused by the right branding using dÈcor could be enough to cause a “Tipping Point” for a product or company. A few items that we, at Meritage Events, read full story >
Austin Parties Still Strong! Through the eyes of a party rental store, where we build stages, tents and lighting shows for festivals, art shows, athletic events, weddings and corporate & social parties, we have a unique view of Austin’s events. With our current economic atmosphere we have been concerned about our event business. We have been monitoring changes very closely since the beginning of last year. Sam Staples, Owner of High Beam Events, Shares Her Story Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got your start. I started doing events in the early 1980s when a boss asked me to plan a multi-city seminar series. I had to contact hotels in each target city (Pittsburgh, DC, Indianapolis, etc.) and get their available dates over a 2-week period. I built a huge chart on graph paper (this was before PCs appeared on everyone’s desks) showing all the availability. My boss would look over the chart and make decisions, but meanwhile the availability had changed! read full story >
